ILLEGAL vapes and cigarettes have been seized during an operation between Dudley Police and Trading Standards today.

Officers from the Sedgley Neighbourhood Policing Team executed warrants at two convenience stores in Coseley and one shop in Compton, Wolverhampton, this morning (Tuesday July 23).

Illegal vapes and tobacco were seized from all three shops and investigations are now underway with Trading Standards in Dudley and Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police said it is working with Trading Standards to identify shops in the area that are selling counterfeit products and taking action to disrupt and stop their illegal activity.

Similar raids were recently carried out in Walsall, Halesowen and Sandwell.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Disposable vapes must have a tank capacity of no more than 2ml and no more than 650 puffs.

"It is likely that anything over 650 puffs will contain more than the legal volume limit and so should not be on sale.

"If you have information about illegal vapes or tobacco on sale, call Trading Standards on 08082 231133."
