POLICE have appealed for information after an attempted theft from a shop in the Black Country.
A man entered a shop in Upper Church Lane, Tipton, just before 6pm on August 20, filled a basket with different items and tried to leave without paying.
A shop worker tried to stop him and was assaulted during the incident before the offender fled the scene.
After trawling through CCTV West Midlands Police has issued an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
A police spokesperson said: “We'd like to speak to this man, as he could have information which could help in our investigation.
“We appreciate these aren't the clearest images, but if you were in the area at the time and recognise him, contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting crime number 20/786079/24.”
