FIGURES showing how many pensioners have received the winter fuel payment in Halesowen, Stourbridge and Dudley have been released.
The figures have been published by the Department for Work & Pensions.
They show that winter fuel payment recipients in 2023-24 by parliamentary constituency were:
Stourbridge (Lab) 18,409
Halesowen (Lab) 17,542
Dudley (Lab) 16,721
The name of the political party that currently represents each constituency is given in brackets.
Clacton in Essex is the constituency with the highest number of winter fuel payment recipients in 2023-24 - with 30,109. The constituency has a Reform MP.
Manchester Rusholme was the lowest with 6,241. It has a Labour MP.
In July, Chancellor Rachel Reeves said future payments would only be made to those getting pension credit or other means-tested help.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has defended his cut in winter fuel payments, saying the move was "to stabilise the economy".
More than nine million pensioners are expected to lose out.
