POLICE, councillors and the local MP joined forces to walk around an area which has been plagued by drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

Councillors Parmjit Sahota and Hilary Bills, Halesowen MP Alex Ballinger and police met at Nimmings Road on Saturday (September 27).

They raised the issue of drug dealing happening openly in the daytime, visible to the local community on land between Nimmings Road and St Pauls Drive.

They have called for the council to tidy up the neglected piece of land which has become a meeting point for drug dealers and users and for the police to conduct regular patrols.

MP Alex Ballinger posted on X: "I joined council officers @WMPolice and councillors @SahotaParmjit and @BillsHilary for an inspection around Nimmings Road after residents reported drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

"I’m committed to working with partners to crack down on crime in our neighbourhood."

Inspector Sarah Smyth, neighbourhood policing manager at Dudley LPA, said previously: “We understand the effect drugs and other anti-social behaviour has on communities and we have been working alongside partners to address the issues in Nimmings Road and St Pauls Drive.

“We would like to reassure them we are working to address these problems and would urge people who see criminal activity in that area to please report it to us via Live Chat or by ringing 101.
