AN appeal has gone out for kindhearted people to help a Halesowen care home resident receive 100 cards for her 100th birthday later this month.
Staff at Gower Gardens want Edna Kettle to be able to open more than 100 cards to mark the huge milestone on October 22.
They are appealing for the public to post cards to the home on Kent Road in time for the celebrations.
Anne Maire Edkins, activity co-ordinator at Gower Gardens, said: "Edna is a lovely lady.
"We are trying to get 100 birthday cards to celebrate such a massive milestone.
"We would appreciate it if you would help us with our mission.
"If you’d like to send a card then please send it to or pop it in to reception if local. Birthday Girl 100, Gower Gardens, Residential Care Home, Kent Road Halesowen, B62 8PQ."
Great-grandmother Edna has lived her entire life in the West Midlands.
She lived at home until a few months short of her 99th birthday when she moved to Gower Gardens.
She joins in with most of the activities at the home, loving the arts and crafts, painting, cooking and enjoying all the entertainment.
As well as her son Robert, Edna has two grandchildren, Jane and David, and four great grandchildren Thomas, Alice, Ewan and Bonnie.
