Trains are unable to call at a station in Walsall following a “serious assault”.
Bescot Railway Station remains closed after emergency services were called last night to reports that a woman was attacked.
West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene at 11.28pm on Sunday, October 20.
A spokesperson for the service. said: “An ambulance, paramedic officer, MERIT trauma team and HART paramedics attended.
“The team arrived to find a woman in a serious condition. She received trauma care on scene before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”
West Midlands Police are assisting the British Transport Police (BTP) with their investigation.
They say they have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell from BTP said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and passengers will see an increased police presence in the area as a result.
“The station will also remain closed. I urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 11 of 21 October. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.”
An 18-year-old man remains in police custody.
West Midlands Railway has said that road transport will be in place to take passengers between Tam Bridge, Bescot and Walsall until further notice.
