A GROUP of Ghostbusters fans will be zipping up their suits and donning their proton packs for a charity pub crawl from Himley to Stourbridge this weekend.
The West Midlands Ghostbusters - a community group of fans of the hit movie franchise – will be hitting the streets, stopping off at supposedly haunted pubs along the way, on Saturday October 26 as they raise funds for Mary Stevens Hospice in Oldswinford.
Group member Steve Robbins, from Rowley Regis, said: “Around 15 of us - men, women and kids - will be fully suited up with proton packs, starting from Himley Hall at midday and stopping at several haunted spots along the way: The Dudley Arms, The Queens Head, The Old Cat, The Starving Rascal, The Unicorn, The Talbot Hotel, and The Crabmill, before finishing at the hospice.
"They've all got a spooky past. We'd like to say a big special thank you to all the places we're going to. We're hoping to raise much-needed funds."
He said community support for the charity walk has been "lovely" and added: "We're looking forward to it, it's going to be great - and it's for a great cause.
"We just hope the weather holds out."
The group has set a £500 target to raise. Anyone wishing to donate can do so online on JustGiving (search West Midlands Ghostbusters fundraiser for Mary Stevens Hospice).
