THE Lace Guild will be giving a demonstration on lace making at Cradley Library in Halesowen next week.
Based at Audnam, between Wordsley and Stourbridge, The Lace Guild is the UK’s largest lace organisation.
The event, taking place on Wednesday November 6 at 11am, will include a talk about how lace is made, the history of the craft and a practical demonstration.
Sandra Francis, library manager for GLL - the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Cradley Library on behalf of Dudley Council, said: “Lacemaking is a traditional craft form that has stood the test of time.
“The event at Cradley is a wonderful opportunity to see lacemaking in action and hear about the different techniques involved.
“We’re very fortunate to have the Lace Guild headquarters relatively nearby and look forward to a fascinating exploration of their creative expertise here at Cradley on November 6.
“Booking is essential.”
