Art and Museums:
One of the many things that Italy is known for is its art and rich history and is particularly renown for artists such as Leonardo DaVinci – having created pieces such as ‘The Annunciation’ - and Sandro Botticelli with his ‘The Birth of Venus’ painting, both of which can be found in Florence! You can check out these different galleries as well as museums that will tell you all about Florence’s history, some including Palazzo Pitti, Palazzo Vecchio for museums, and the Uffizi Gallery for art, each of them still with their original architecture, taking you back in time, making the experience that much more special.

Florence isn’t just known for its architecture and landscapes, but also for its mouth-watering food, and music that makes you move. If you want to experience a party in your mouth, you should visit All 'Antico Vinaio for its famous sandwiches or Trattoria 13 Gobbi for delicious traditional Italian food. Once you’ve digested all that goodness, wind down and listen to some enchanting classical music with Candlelight concerts or visit the Red Garter Karaoke Bar for something more upbeat. And if you’re truly lucky enough, you might just find live music playing throughout the Tuscan streets, and completely for free!
Things to do:
You didn’t experience Florence if you hadn’t gone to the Basilica that are scattered around the city, the leather markets and the Ponte Vecchio. This triad will ensure that you have the ultimate, unforgettable, Florentine experience. The cathedrals here are some of the most beautiful in the world, and its architecture will take your breath away, so when visiting make sure to go to the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and the Basilica di San Lorenzo. The leather created in Florence is very famous and dates to the renaissance era and can be found at the San Lorenzo market as well as the Mercato Nuovo, so make sure to buy yourself something! If you’re looking to buy yourself a keeps sake of a different kind, you may also find this at the Ponte Vecchio; a medieval arch bridge in the middle of Florence, that has many shops on it, selling amazing hand-made jewellery.
Getting around:
Florence is very easy to get around, since it has multiple modes of transportation. You can choose to walk around the city and take in all its sights, or you may take a trip by bus or tram. To buy tickets for transport, go into any shop or tobacconist shop, costing only 1.50 euros.
