A MAN has been “seriously injured” after a car crashed into railings at a junction in Erdington over the weekend.
A 24-year-old was rushed to hospital after he was found trapped in a car at the junction of Chester Road and Kingsbury Road in the early hours of Sunday, November 3.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a passenger, a man, trapped in the car in a serious condition.
"The team of ambulance staff worked quickly with fire colleagues to rapidly extricate him from the car whilst providing trauma care.
“The man’s condition was stabilised on scene before he was conveyed by ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further trauma care.
“No other occupants were found at the scene.”
West Midlands Police however have issued an appeal for two other people they believe left the crash site.
In a statement, they said: “Two people believed to be the driver of the vehicle and a second passenger left the scene.
“We are appealing to them to do the right thing and come forward.
“We would like to speak with any witnesses or anyone with information including dashcam footage which may help with our investigation.”
Anyone with information is being urged to contact West Midlands Police via the Live Chat on their website or by calling 101, quoting log 638, November 3.
