FOUR people have been rushed to hospital, two with serious injuries following a car crash in Wednesbury last night.

West Midlands Police were called in Woden Road South, Sandwell at around 08.20pm on November 3 after a single car had flipped onto it’s roof.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: “The car contained four men aged 28, 41, two are aged 55 and a 30-year-old woman.

“Two people continue to be treated for serious injuries.

“Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.”

West Midlands Ambulance crews were called to the crash shortly after, sending four ambulances and a critical care team from Midlands Air Ambulance as well as two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma team.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Ambulance staff arrived at the scene to find a car on its roof after reportedly colliding with street furniture.

“The team worked quickly to assess the five occupants of the car.

“One man was in a critical condition and received advanced trauma care to stabilise his condition before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.

“A second man sustained potentially life-changing injuries which also required trauma care on scene before being alerted to the same hospital for specialist care.

“Two other men were assessed and treated for less serious injuries before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital.

“The fifth occupant, a woman, was uninjured.”
