POLICE have arrested three people and recovered two handguns in the Black Country as part of a crackdown on serious organised crime in the region.
West Midlands Police officers raided an address on Trident Drive in Oldbury on Saturday night, November 2, as part of a pre-planned operation.
Two handguns were found at the property and two women, aged 44 and 43, along with a man, aged 50, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
A police spokesperson said: “We've recovered two handguns and arrested three people as part of our ongoing fight against serious and organised crime in the West Midlands.”
They said the three people arrested have since been released under investigation and added: “The weapons are being forensically examined as our investigation continues.
“The investigation falls part of Operation Target, which sees our officers work 24/7 to tackle guns, drugs, money laundering and exploitation around the West Midlands.”
