SANDWELL Council is asking residents where they would like to see more trees planted in the borough this year.
The council has a target to plant 1,400 trees in 2024/25.
It has already planted 429 trees in various locations, with the number set to increase sharply over the winter which is the best time to plant trees.
Not only will the new trees make the borough greener and more pleasant, they will help towards the council's climate change targets and create habitat for wildlife.
The first large tree planting site of the year was at Kendrick Park where a woodland mix of 220 Rowan, Oak and Hawthorn tree whips were planted, in addition 12 Redwood trees have been planted in Red House Park, but the council wants residents' ideas about where else trees should be planted.
Residents can get in touch by emailing tree_planting@sandwell.co.uk.
Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for environment, Councillor Keith Allcock, said: "We are determined to create a leafier, more attractive borough and we want to hear from you. If you know of a location that you think would benefit from having trees planted, then get in touch."
All proposals will be investigated but may not be chosen if the location is unsuitable for any reason.
