UNPAID carers in the Dudley borough can access free support at a Carers’ Rights Day event taking place on Thursday (November 21)
The Brett Young Carers Hub on Hawne Road in Halesowen will be offering free advice and information about the rights that carers are entitled to in the borough.
Carers can also relax with a free hand or neck massage and take part in a mindfulness session designed to help manage stress.
There will also be chance to get a flu or COVID-19 vaccination booster, subject to eligibility.
Councillor Andrea Goddard, cabinet member for adult social care at Dudley Council, said: "Understanding your rights as an unpaid carer helps to negotiate the challenges that you might face when looking after a loved one, whether this is a parent, relative or a friend.
"Many people are unfortunately unaware of the various means of support that unpaid carers can access. This support can help in the workplace and when dealing with healthcare providers.
"Events like this one are an important part of helping people in Dudley borough to recognise their rights and have the confidence to ask for what they need."
Places can be booked in advance by calling 01384 818723 or carers are welcome to drop in on the day.
