Our June evening was most wonderful in every way! Sandra Bright created stunning arrangements using delicate foliage Bridal Wreath (spirea), ivy, ruskus and leatherleaf ferns creating inspirational Floral Wedding Designs with lillies, lianthus, gerberas, carnations and golden rod (solidago) from hoops for bridesmaids, to pew ends, chair backs for the Reception, Church and Top Table arrangements.
Some were traditional in shape and colour and others modern showing how some present brides want more unusual colours and styles. Wedding Banners and balloons set the scene and Sandra's own Wedding Dress was displayed.
Married members, Wesley and Pauline Holloway were the Bride and Groom and had dressed for the occasion.
They walked down the aisle to Mendelssohn's Wedding March wearing a buttonhole and holding a beautiful hand-tied bouquet of cream roses made by Sandra.
Wedding favours were given to all ladies – the 5 almonds representing health, happiness, long life, fertility and good fortune. Gentlemen each received a small chocolate. The Bride and Groom were toasted in traditional fashion with some much welcome refreshing Schloer! Those who had the arrangements from the prize draw were delighted! July 1st will be a Gardening Event with Bruce Screen of Cypress Nursery, Powke Lane. He will speak about geraniums. A Question Time and plants sale will follow. All are welcome.
The Club is held at The Baptist Church, Corngreaves Road, Four Ways, Cradley Heath B64 6BL. Doors open at 6.45pm for 7.30 pm. Entrance is £3 to include coffee/tea & biscuits.
