A CHARITY that helps people with mental health problems is hoping to net donations of fishing tackle to extend its newly set up angling classes in Halesowen.
Dudley MIND recently launched the weekly fishing class at Hunnington Coarse Fishery learner pool for eight people as part of its day service activities.
Paul Chell, from the charity, said they had some tackle, but needed more as interest was growing.
“The idea behind this is to give respite from mental illness, help promote well-being independence and sense of achievement.
“I know in my experience fishing has always been my way to switch off from the rat race and negatives and to step into a world that is just simply natural and magical and simply very addictive,” he said.
Anyone who can help should contact Mr Chell on 07865648512 or email him at paulchell@gmail.com
