Old Hill CC hit the top of Birmingham League Division One with a superb nine wicket win over Coventry and North Warwickshire.
The result, coupled with Berkswell’s defeat at Brockhampton, saw Nathan Round’s side leapfrog the long-time leaders and into pole position for the first time this campaign.
It was also perfect timing by the sporting gods as per usual, with Old Hill set to visit Berkswell this weekend.
Motivation should not be an issue, with memories of the Coventry side’s win at Old Hill earlier this year - when they skittled the hosts for just 64- still fresh in the memory.
Old Hill will once again be hoping for big performances from bowlers Zafran Ali, Sharkey Hussain and Ed Denham, who combined to knock over Coventry and NW for just 118.
Mike Hingley hit 42 not out in the run chase.
