OLD Halesonians RFC suffered an agonisingly narrow 23-19 defeat at Bournville last weekend.
Hales were leading the game by a point with just minutes to play when Adam Coniff went over for the hosts to steal the game.
It was particularly galling for the visitors, who had fought back after a bright start from the home side.
Hales now host Bedworth this Saturday at Wassell Grove (2.15pm kick-off).
There was almost identical agony for Old Hales Colts who conceded a try with almost the last move of the game as they lost 23-18 at home to Whitchurch.
The game had been close throughout and the sides went in level 10-10 at the break following Liam Kendrick’s first half try for Hales.
Orie Shaw, who had previously been sin-binned, then drew the sides level again when he went over with just minutes to play but Billy Taylor could not add the conversion which would have put the hosts ahead.
When Hales were then turned over at the breakdown, Whitchurch took advantage and snatched victory.
