POLICE would like to speak with three men after a firework was allegedly thrown onto a football pitch.
It happened at the Ilkeston Town FC home match at the New Manor Ground against Halesowen Town on Saturday (January 29).
West Midlands Police have now shared an image appeal issued by Derbyshire Constabulary.
PC Adam Collins, of the Football Policing Unit for Derbyshire Constabulary, said: “Fortunately no one was hurt but the pitch has been damaged, and it will be costly to replace.
“This type of behaviour isn’t acceptable, and we are committed to finding the person responsible.
"I would encourage anyone with information which could help our enquiries to get in touch.”
Those who recognise any of the men in the photos, or have information that could help police, can send a message to Derbyshire Constabulary on Facebook or Twitter, quoting the reference 22*62668.
They can also provide information by completing an online contact form via https://bit.ly/3wX8Fr3, or calling police on 101.
